Amelie holds a German master’s degree in psychology. She has specialized in educational and clinical psychology. She has worked multiple years developing treatment plans for people being affected by their special or mental health challenges.

After an year as an UN volunteer working as a counselor and program manager in a Youth organization in Botswana, she co-founded a counseling center providing assessments and counseling for cognitive, educational, behavioral and emotional problems, as well as training programs for parents, teachers and companies. She has always been actively involved in trying to break stigma in the areas of special needs and mental health. Recently, she also obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Pre and Primary School Teaching degree from the University of Birmingham.
